The Bible describes sacred spaces both physical (the desert, the Temple, the well) and intangible (the heart, the fellowship of believers, the Word).

These spaces are both ordinary and austere, they are the setting and the story.

This year, Sacred Spaces will be our theme in The Abbey and each month we’ll lean into a different sacred space.

Our name – The Abbey – denotes a sacred physical space while our mantra #thisisholyground reminds us that we don’t have to place ourselves in a physical Abbey to swept up in awe and worship. This moment, here and now, is infused with God’s presence, not because of our effort, but because of God’s grace.
