September 2020 | dates + location TBA
We will be producing content for October 2020 – March 2021
Expectations
Participate in 3 hour-long video calls prior to the production weekend praying and discussing each month’s theme with the team.
Travel to the production destination.
Be a participant in at least 4 yoga videos (two full-length and two mini).
Be an engaged and enthusiastic cheerleader for the other Leaders on the team.
Be yourself.
As a Flow Leader…
Sequence and teach full-length Power or Slow Flow (60 mins)
Sequence and teach mini Power or Slow Flow (15-30 mins)
Create playlist to accompany full-length flow
As a Meditation Leader…
Record audio Lectio Divina practice (5-15 minutes)
Record audio Meditation practice (5-15 minutes)
*These will be recorded during the production weekend
As a Devotional Writer…
X number of words
6 theme cards
Submit a first draft of your devotional four weeks prior to its scheduled release date and work with Caroline on edits
These roles will be split up between 6 people, meaning you will fill more than one role while on this team. Depending on the team assembled, this may look like you teaching a Power Flow Practice for one month and a Slow Flow practice for another month, recording the meditation practices for one month, and writing the devotional for still another month. It could also look like you writing the devotional for three months and recording the meditation practices for two. We will assign roles based on strengths but know that you may also be asked to fill a role you did not apply for or don’t feel 100% awesome at right now.
What the weekend is like
Think of this weekend like summer yoga camp – you’ll laugh until you pee your pants, stay up late talking with new best friends, move your body and work harder than ever, get all kinds of sweaty, and leave in awe of God and His goodness.
You’ll arrive in time for dinner on Day 1 and we’ll go over what the next three days will look like. Then Days 2, 3, and 4 will be spent filming! We aim to have the cameras rolling by 8:30am, which means our days start around 7-7:30am, and end around 6:30pm, followed by a big delicious dinner. We’ll throw a big celebration our final night and then the following morning we’ll wrap up any last videos and take some photos. You’re welcome to leave the evening of the fourth day, but if you can stick around through the following morning, we’d love to spend a few hours debriefing together. We’ll wrap just before lunchtime on Day 5.
We’ll stay in a big house together, sit around a big table and laugh and cry together, gather twice a day to practice Lectio Divina, and cheer each other on as we do scary things with great grace! It’s a lot of fun. And it’s a lot of work. Be prepared for next level pouring out and being poured back into. You’ll be stretched (literally and figuratively) and challenged but oh so supported every step of the way.
*If you live locally and would prefer to sleep in your own bed, we understand!
What you receive
-
All food and lodging covered for the duration of the weekend
-
A year of membership in the Leaders Wing of The Abbey
-
A set of Abbey shirts and an Abbey tote bag
-
Mentorship and coaching from Caroline
How to Apply
Click here to be taken to the application page. Please be aware that you will be required to submit a short teaching video and if you’re specifically applying to be a devotional writer, a writing sample. All the instructions for this are on the application page.
While it’s not a requirement for 2020 participation on one of our Content Teams, team members are highly encouraged to attend the Leaders Training Retreat in February. This retreat will form as the foundation for The Abbey’s approach to sequencing and teaching methodology. We’ll make sure the entire team is up to speed and well-supported as they create their content, but participating in this training will be hugely beneficial!
